Lilibet: How it Began

Last week Diana took you through what Witches on Wheels was and how it came to be from her perspective, but this week I wanted to give you a more personal insight to how our business was birthed, in a way.

October 2020

Halloween, otherwise known as Samhain (sow-eyn) is a brilliant time for the magic folk of the world as it is known as the witches New Year! It is a time to celebrate all our accomplishments from the year and thank the people who have got us there, most importantly- our ancestors. I personally love one of the ways Gabriela Herstik shares to celebrate our ancestors on this sacred night. Writing a letter to a deceased loved one and burning it afterwards is a wonderful way to share your gratitude out into the universe as you see the smoke twirl higher and higher into the atmosphere. It has been expressed throughout the centuries that Samhain is a night where the veil between the physical and the spiritual is lifted and we are able to peek into the realm of the supernatural easier than any other evening.

This Samhain was especially special for our Burrow family as it was the time where we each manifested our desire of creating Witches on Wheels in our own crafty way. Picture this, it is the 31st October and there is a majestic Lilibet with her red witchy hat on, attending a women’s circle, based around banning misogyny and celebrating the feminine - which absolutely worked as the following week Donald Trump lost the United States election.

During this spell casting time, I spoke about my desire to create a business where I can embrace the crafty side of myself with the women, I love the most in the universe, my family. After releasing my desire to God and the Universe, Diana soon after messaged myself and Jacquetta about a vision she had in her dream the previous night. I was selling handmade crafty products created by myself and Jacquetta from a VW van at different stalls and cities. Jaquetta had already been created a plethora of different magical designs to bring into the business so with the three of us ready to time up, Witches on Wheels was ready to dance out of our heads and onto the earth.

What Do Each of the Burrow Women Do?

Each of the Burrow women represent the triple goddess- the maiden, the mother and the crone. Each of these relate to a different aspect of a woman’s cycle. The helpful website of learnreligions.com summarises the different aspects as thus:

The Maiden is seen as the virginal young woman, or girl, who has not yet awakened. She is all about enchantment and new beginnings, youthful ideas and enthusiasm. She is associated with the waxing phase of the lunar cycle, as the moon grows from dark to full.

The Mother is the next phase in a woman's life. She is fertility and fecundity, abundance and growth, the gaining of knowledge. She is fulfilment—sexual, social, and emotional—and she is represented by the full moon. Springtime and early summer are her domain; as the earth becomes green and fertile, so does the Mother. A woman does not have to have biological children to embrace the role of Mother.

Finally, the Crone aspect is the final stage. She is the hag and the wise woman, the darkness of night, and eventually death. She is the waning moon, the chill of winter, the dying of the earth.

Maiden: Lilibet
Depending on the time within the month’s cycle, each of us Burrow women resonate with the contrasting parts of the Triple Goddess. However, with my energy and charismatic nature, Diana has expressed many times that I embrace the Maiden’s enthusiastic demeanour splendidly. This works perfectly for the social side of the family company, where I am present on YouTube and the blog; alongside manning the stalls and interacting with different people.

Mother: Diana
Diana herself has reached the stage of her life where she desires to be an actual mother and is urging to learn more about life. This fits perfectly with her business and technological side of the business; creating the website and having many ideas for the business for Jacquetta and I to execute.

Crone: Jacquetta
Speaking of Jacquetta, she is very much ready to become the grandmother figure, crafting away with her familiar and departing her wisdom of life onto me, Diana and our youngest sister, Calithea (also known as Thea). We have many plans for Calithea in the future, should she wish to join the family business when the time is right.

The power of the New Year was definitely with us that year and we cannot wait for our seed to germinate and blossom into a delightful pumpkin this fall with you when we launch our shop!

Blessed Be,

Lilibet Burrow
