Join Our Book Club

One thing that the witches of our coven all have in common is our love for books. Lilibet and I used to be in so many book clubs when we were little, but it wasn't until lockdown that we realised we could form our own. What started as a poetry reading group then turned into a book club where, each full moon, we will discuss a book chosen by one of our coven members that involves magic or witchcraft in some way.

The book that we will be reading this full moon is Twice Bitten, a book I wrote that was based off the Twilight premise of a vampire attending a high school and the infatuation that boy has with an ordinary human girl.

When I wrote Twice Bitten I decided I wanted to question most of the tropes that we were given back in 2008. Like: why would an immortal vampire choose to spend their days going back to high school? How does a guy who is mentally in his hundreds deal with teenage drama when they only look eighteen? And isn't it VERY creepy that a hundred year old guy is falling for a teenage girl?

The one off book quickly formed an idea in my mind to become a trilogy - the second book of which will be coming out in December and focuses a lot more heavily on the witch-side of things rather than vampires as the first book does.

After each full moon, we will post a book review on this blog so you might get to know more of the witch-based fiction out there.

Twice Bitten

Liv Morgan has been stalked by death since the age of five when her parents were murdered by vampires. Since then, she's been shot, stabbed, and fatally wounded several times.

Now, only a few months away from her eighteenth birthday and the promise of being free from the foster system forever, Liv has to tackle Death's latest hurdle: an irresistible vampire that Liv is literally being drawn to.

When ignoring Emerson Lark becomes impossible, Liv's only option is to figure out why a hundred year old vampire has decided to return to school - and whether it has anything to do with the strange visions she's begun to have of a past where vampires were at war with human hunters.

If you would like to read along with the books we discuss each week, check out the link to our book club and follow me on GoodReads where you can review any one of my books.

Blessed Be and Happy Reading!
