Lilibet's Spring Equinox

 

Happy spring time, my sweet treats!

Isn't life just so magical that each year the seasons change to bring a new gift four times a year?! After a difficult winter season of the global pandemic, it is beautiful to wake up to light outside the window and at 5pm to get to walk home in the sun (albeit, not very bright because of rainy England...)

We have less than a week to go until the Spring Equinox and I thought it would be the perfect time to share with you what I shall be doing to celebrate the occasion! If you want to watch me talk through the history of the Spring Equinox, please watch the attached YouTube video.

In this blog post I will be responding to questions about what I will be getting up to during the Spring Equinox. It was only until writing down my answers that I have realised just how excited I am for Spring to arrive! I hope reading my responses gets a spring in your step (get it...?!)

What comes to Lilibet's mind when she hears Spring? 

Sunshine, flowers, bunnies and eggs! Growing up from a Christian background I would always celebrate, what I knew to be called, Easter. I would participate in egg hunts and almost certainly eat half my body weight in Easter eggs. Going through my witchy journey, it was so exciting to discover, that just like Christmas, there are so many crossovers between Easter and Ostara (otherwise known as the Spring Equinox). Easter gets its name from the Teutonic goddess of spring and the dawn, whose name is spelled Oestre or Eastre. Easter changes its specific date every year because it is based on the moon- how very pagan of them!

What colours will I be wearing this Spring Equinox? 

When you hear Ostara the colours that I think of are all things so darn ADORABLE! I shall be wearing a mixture of pastels- pinks, yellows, green, pale blues, purples. Anything that would make me look like the secret witchy Powerful Girl, that I am!

What crystals will Lilibet be having on her during this time? 

Similar to the colours that reflect Ostara, the crystals for this occasion are so delightful. I will be having rose quartz, selenite, amethyst, moonstone and aquamarine close to my side this Spring Equinox!

What activities will Lilibet be getting up to? 

EATING; PLANTING; REPEATING. Any dairy products are a great thing to be munching on during this time, which is perfect for me because vanilla slice time is anytime within my household. I have already planted by dahlia and sage plants from Imbolc and I have sunflower seeds germinating for the summer.
